Hey, truckhole (the person who made the fish feds post that you reblogged) is 26, so just be careful and try not to reblog from them in the future. Stay safe!
Ok but also from a like, theatrical storytelling perspective, there’s a thing called “willful suspension of disbelief” which is basically the concept that in order to let ourselves be immersed and enjoy a story, we need to turn off our knowledge that it’s all fake anyway.
like yes, we all *know* it’s unrealistically bright for a night time war, but it needs to be so we can SEE the story being told, and the lighting designer used blue light to show it was night time. We KNOW that Sir Ian isn’t actually a wizard but we SUSPEND that DISBELIEF because we want to be entertained.
theres the moon, theres the stars, in this fantasy world the stars might be four times as bright or there might be two moons
or, considering this is a land without electric lights, its assumed that everyones eyes, including those of the viewers, have adjusted enough to the darkness that yes normal ass moon and stars provide sufficient illumination to actually see that the elf king is not wearing sweatpants like youd be able to tell or who the hell was that who just got stabbed thats kind of an important detail in an action scene
Hey,friend. How are you doing? So,House of M didn’t age well, but it’s so beautiful aesthetically.Like,Lorna and Wanda on those princess dress and Pietro with those medals or whatever. It’s missing Olivier Coipel hours. What do you think?
I agree, I feel like if the art design/aesthetics weren’t so good then this event wouldn’t have lasted so long in people’s minds.
The concept of Magneto & Family being mutant royalty is so amazing but unfortunately the plot doesn’t live up to the idea or the pretty art. I often wish House of M had been it’s own stand alone universe from the beginning without all the character abuse it placed on Wanda.
IMO while its execution back then did a lot of damage to Wanda, I think the core concept could be revived in newer comics if approached carefully and considerately to all the characters.
The thing is I still want a House of M universe, the 2015 one didn’t really do the characters justice either. I would love this concept of the Magnet Family being mutant royalty being handled by someone who actually cared for the characters and could write more than just a Magneto centric (or in the og HoM wolverine centric) plot.
I do agree that the 2015 one didn’t handle the family as a whole very well. Its treatment of Pietro in particular was really poor and on top of it they had a perfect angle they could’ve used that would’ve been good (Pietro playing Namor for Magneto). It handled Lorna very well, so I tend to suggest it for her but disclaim the Pietro treatment.
Hoping eventually a good depiction of all the members simultaneously happens. Needs a writer that looks at all the characters separately and collectively as a family.
